What it is
When the nerve inside a tooth is infected or inflamed, we clean out the canals inside the root, disinfect them and seal them. This removes the source of pain and lets you keep your own tooth.
Who it's for
People with severe toothache, sensitivity that lingers, swelling, or a tooth that has darkened after an injury.
What to expect

An X-ray to see the root and the extent of infection.

The tooth is numbed and isolated to keep it clean.

The canals are cleaned, shaped and filled.

The tooth is sealed, and usually a crown is advised to protect it.
Aftercare
Avoid chewing hard food on the tooth until it is fully restored. Some tenderness for a few days is normal.
